Biography

Adam Skipper is a board certified family medicine physician and fellowship trained sports medicine specialist. He grew up as a multi-sport athlete in Yorktown, Virginia, where he began to see the profound benefits that athletics and movement bring to our lives. He graduated from Virginia Tech with a BS in Nutrition, Foods, and Exercise where he was a varsity swimmer. He received his medical degree from LECOM in Bradenton, FL and completed his residency at Bayfront Health, St Petersburg, FL. He then traveled to Birmingham to complete his sports medicine fellowship at the American Sports Medicine Institute, founded by renowned sports medicine surgeon Dr. James Andrews. He has been a team physician for Troy University, Birmingham Southern University, Samford University, an Assistant Medical Director for the World Games Birmingham in 2022, and medical staff for numerous road and multisport races.

Dr. Skipper is an Eagle Scout and enjoys hiking along with racing triathlons with his wife, Dr. Brittney Russell.
